Niagara Falls Frozen

Why do so many people see the end of the world in a little adverse weather? And then after things get back to "normal", whatever that is, all is forgotten - including God - until the next looming catastrophe comes along. Why do men thrive on fear? As the apostle John said in his epistles, there is none of God's love in fear. If you fear, your lack of faith as a Christian is fully evident. Now to address the recent cold spell in Britain and Ireland, let us make a note that Niagara Falls has frozen on many occasions throughout history. So has the Thames River at London. Here are some pictures of the falls as they are frozen, from early in the 20th century.

Nike won't change name of Joe Paterno Child Development Center

Although embroiled in a scandal over pedophilia when he died (see the March Saxon Messenger editorial, Lambs to the Slaughter), Nike Inc. evidently has no plans to change the name of the Joe Paterno Child Development Center on its World Headquarters Campus near Beaverton, Oregon. This is in spite of criticism from much of the media, including Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, and local outlets such as oregonlive.com. Nike, therefore, represents just another part of the problem: basically turning its head aside in the face of child rape. Perhaps it should be referred to as the Nike Child Rape Advocacy Center?

"Incorporating the arrest"? Is the news announcer serious? If the cops were beating the living shit out of a submissive negro, what would he have said then? Where are the protests and cries for justice on behalf of an apparently white criminal? Where are the cries for justice against the evil white cops? The media hypocrisy never ends... fair & balanced.

Recently, while visiting a large department store, I observed a beautiful Nativity scene on display for sale. As one who views the observance of Christmas as the ultimate Baal worship, I had no intent of buying it. However, I do appreciate good workmanship and, indeed, this Nativity scene was one of great detail. It was easy to see why the store was selling a lot of them.

There is surely no nation in the world that holds "racism" in greater horror than does the United States. Compared to other kinds of offenses, it is thought to be somehow more reprehensible. The press and public have become so used to tales of murder, rape, robbery, and arson, that any but the most spectacular crimes are shrugged off as part of the inevitable texture of American life. "Racism" is never shrugged off. For example, when a white Georgetown Law School student reported earlier this year that black students are not as qualified as white students, it set off a booming, national controversy about "racism." If the student had merely murdered someone he would have attracted far less attention and criticism.

UPDATE Jan 2012. Still at it! Frankfort, KY. Judge fines state over child-abuse records. Franklin Circuit Judge Phillip Shepherd ordered a state agency to pay $16,550 in fines + $56,663 in legal costs to 3 newspapers for illegally withholding public records involving child-abuse deaths and serious injuries. The judge also rejected efforts by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to heavily redact, or remove, information from such documents. He said the cabinet was continuing its "efforts to blanket the operation of the child welfare system under a veil of secrecy."
Shepherd's opinion and order Thursday involved a 2-year legal fight by The Courier-Journal + Lexington Herald-Leader over access to records of child-abuse deaths under the state open records law.
Rep Tom Burch, a Louisville Democrat who is the committee's chairman, advised the cabinet not to "circle the wagons" because the public wants to understand how it handles child protection cases. They want to know what's going on over there."

PREFACE

There is a mission here in America for the pulpit to begin to liberate the Christian Church from what the New Testament Scriptures call "the fear of the Jews." The pulpit also has a mission of liberating the Church from the error that Judah and Israel are synonymous. The reading of the Scriptures which con-fuse the tribe of Judah with Israel, and which interpret every mention of Israel as signifying the Jews, is at the root of nearly all the confusion and division traceable in Christian doctrinal statements.
